Zero The Hero Fun!

My kindergarten kids love Zero the Hero! For each special 10 day we had a fun and easy project! He would also bring a treat that looked like a zero... lifesaver gummies were a favorite!! On 200 day, each child finally got to hold and cuddle with him!! On one of our special days, I forgot!!! I forgot to get him out, bring a treat, project... I quickly hung up a picture of him and a note that he was stuck in traffic! It worked and he returned the next day - another reason why I love kindergarten kids!! :)

Let's Get Acquainted Linky Party!

I am linking up with Latoya Reed of Flying into First Grade and sharing three things about myself related to my initials.
My initials are LDJ - so...

L - Love where I live - to me the most beautiful place - on the coast of South Carolina! I live 5 minutes from the beach, river, and creek!

D - Love to draw - actually draw, make, color, paint... it helps me relax! Great thing about teaching kindergarten- they think everything I do is wonderful!!

J - Love my job - love teaching kindergarten - I have been teaching for more than 24 years - still love what I do! Sometimes I am really tired - wish I could bottle up all my kindergarten kids energy just for me!

Sparkle Clips - My kids love them!

I love my classroom behavior clip chart! This year, I added Sparkle Clips! If a child's clip moves all the way up to pink - they get a sparkle gem added to their clip! My kindergarten kids love the sparkle clips! I like that I can reward great behavior with just a little sparkle gem! It is difficult to get all the way to pink, when it happens, we all cheer!! :)

Currently 2013

Can not believe it is already 2013!
Happy New Year !!

Don't forget to hook up with Farley for the new currently.

My OLW - one little word.......... Balance. This is a tough one for me (and lots of my teacher friends too!) Balance between my jobs - teacher, mom, wife, daughter, sister, Sunday School teacher, blogger...
Balance - finding time to spend with God, family, school...
Balance - to eat better, exercise more, sleep more, feel better.
Balance - to not worry so much - especially about financial situations, husband's job...
Balance - as I guide my son (who is a senior in high school) to prepare for his future - he has Aspergers -just to figure out the best fit for college...
